Growing Strawberries

Strawberries are some of the earliest fruit you will be picking from your garden.  They are easy to grow, and can be grown in the soil, in containers, grow bags and hanging baskets.  Strawberry plants are hardy perennials which will produce well for about 3 to 4 years.  Home grown strawberries have an excellent flavour and texture, very different to those found in the supermarkets (which have been grown for robustness when travelling rather than flavour).  By planting different varieties you should be able to harvest strawberries throughout summer.
